Belgian pianist and composer Maarten Lingier studied piano at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Jan Wijn, where he obtained his Bachelor's degree and received the prize for the outstanding Bachelor piano graduate of his year. Alongside his classical studies, he also studied jazz piano with Karel Boehlee. He completed his Master's degree cum laude at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Boyan Vodenitcharov.

Lingier has received prizes at the Cantabile Piano Competition, the Princess Christina Competition and the Young Pianist Foundation Competition, and has appeared as a soloist with the Symphonic Assai Orchestra.

As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with artists including Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Vilmos Csikós, Claron McFadden, Philip Catherine, Tcha Limberger and Benjamin Glorieux. He also performed for several years with Filip Jordens in the acclaimed production Hommage à Brel, touring in Canada, Hong Kong and at major festivals throughout Belgium and the Netherlands.

Now based in Paris, Lingier combines an active career as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist with his work as a composer. Equally at home in the classical repertoire, contemporary music, improvisation and jazz, he enjoys exploring the connections between different musical traditions while maintaining a distinctive artistic voice.
