C-Hal
Rap-opera
C-Hal is a rap-opera created for B-Classic, blending classical voices and instruments with rap and popular music. Set five years after the closure of Ford Genk, the work follows four former workers as they meet again, each having taken a different path since the factory closed. Through their stories, the piece explores the lasting human impact of an industry that shaped a city and generations of its inhabitants.
Het teken van de Hamster
Muziektheater
Het teken van de hamster is a music-theatre work based on the celebrated 1963 poem by Flemish writer Hugo Claus. Following a journey from Ghent to Bruges and back, the work moves through a dense and associative world of memory, identity and Flemish history. The music draws on elements of Flemish folk music and early polyphony, intertwining them with a contemporary musical language and the vivid rhythms and imagery of Claus’s text.
