About the piece

Poème was written for and dedicated to the violinist Vilmos Csikos, drawing on his exceptional sensitivity to sound, lyricism, and tonal color. Commissioned by Young Belgian Talent in collaboration with Klara, the work was released on the album Thinking About Belgium in 2020. Inspired in part by Japanese aesthetics, Poème explores a sense of space, refinement, and quiet sensuality. Rich, luminous harmonies in the piano provide a subtle backdrop to the violin, at times discreetly interacting with the solo line while allowing its expressive voice to remain at the forefront. The piece was broadcasted several times on radio KLARA.
