About the piece  

This work is a piece of absolute music, without any direct external inspiration other than music itself. The five movements are conceived in contrast, each with its own specific character, often defined by a particular motif or musical gesture.Several references to early music appear throughout the work: the fourth movement, Passacaglia, the small canon in Intermezzo, and the suggestion of a 'bourdon' in Sérénade. These elements are not quotations, but rather subtle connections to the idea of the suite, while the main purpose remains the creation of a personal and contemporary musical language.The cello is treated in both lyrical and rhythmic ways, revealing different aspects of its expressive possibilities. The orchestral writing moves between rich symphonic textures and more intimate chamber-music sonorities.Through an intuitive exploration of harmony, melody, rhythm and orchestral colour, the work presents a variety of characters and sound worlds, with the cello in dialogue with the orchestra.​
