Trois mélodies sur l'automne is a song cycle for voice and piano inspired by autumn as a season of transition. Marking the passage from summer to winter, autumn is associated with reflection and change as nature prepares for the colder months. This transition also suggests different notions of l'ailleurs—a place beyond the immediate, whether emotional, spiritual or symbolic.The cycle sets three poems: Automne malade by Guillaume Apollinaire, Roses de l'automne by Nérée Beauchemin, and Fruit d'automne by Ondine Valmore. Together, they offer complementary perspectives on autumn. Automne maladeevokes the fragility and melancholy of a fading season. In Roses de l'automne, roses continue to bloom despite adversity, symbolising resilience and the memory of past seasons. Fruit d'automne reflects on fruit that ripens and falls while preserving within it the possibility of new growth, suggesting both the cycle of life and the continuity of the soul beyond death.​​
